Mike Paul-Smith Music’s two party bands, Capital Sounds Showband and The Get Downs, provide sensational celebratory dancing music for the Horah.

We usually start with Hava Nagila and then perform a non-stop medley lasting for around 15 minutes.

Andy and Karen are a wonderful couple, based in New York City, who booked a whole-day wedding music package for their Jewish wedding through Mike Paul-Smith Music.

Andy and Karen found out about us because we had performed at Andy’s best man’s wedding the year previously – and a few weeks after that wedding, they got in touch asking us to perform for them.

They live in New York and, as it happened, we were able to arrange a wedding planning meeting there – with Mike taking a few hours out of a holiday to discuss their plans for the big day.

Capital Sounds Showband

Our premium party band – starting the evening with The Horah and then performing sensational pop, soul and Motown music. Incredible medleys of back-to-back hits fill the dancefloor for a party that your guests will be raving about for years.

The Get Downs

Our most versatile band – with a huge range of different musical genres catering to all age groups. Swing, jive and big band music gets your party off to a great start before soul and Motown music keeps you dancing into the night.

Live music for the Chuppah

We love performing for the Chuppah, performing your requests to create special memories.

A popular option is a male vocalist with a pianist who can performing Israeli favourites including Boi B’Shalom, Meheira, Im Eshkahech and Siman Tov! Mazel Tov!

The duo can be expanded with extra instruments – you can add anything up to 45 musicians for a captivating orchestral experience!

We can also provide pop and contemporary music with our other line-ups.

The Soul Essentials

A vocalist and a pianist combine to perform your favourite songs from jazz and musical theatre to pop and more. Male vocalist available on request.

Wedding Pianist

A huge range of classical and contemporary music, also available with additional musicians such as a cellist or saxophonist.

Whilst you’re taking photos and enjoying some drinks, keep your guests entertainment with fabulous live entertainment.

The Vintage Strollers

An interactive experience, with acoustic musicians strolling amongst your guests performing lively swing and pop music. A great option for outdoors drinks receptions – particularly if your venue doesn’t allow amplified music.

Get Brassy

If you want a really raucous reception, check out Get Brassy – a New Orleans street band who perform brass band versions of modern pop songs.

Dinner entertainment

During dinner, you could put on your choice of music on our PA system or you can book a smaller group of musicians to provide background jazz,
soul or pop music. This could either be instrumental or vocal-led depending on your preferences.

An instrumental band performing well-known jazz standards – providing a sophisticated atmosphere during dinner.

The Soul Essentials

Vocal-led duo performing your favourite songs as you walk down the aisle and sign the register.

Finishing Touches

Small extras that make a big difference.

Your wedding party doesn’t have to end when the party band finishes – find out about using our top quality PA system to play your choice of recorded music, which is usually free of charge until midnight and can be extended afterwards for an additional charge.

We’ll happily learn one suitable request free of charge when you book a party band. Get in touch for a quote for learning additional new songs!

Personalise your wedding video with a recording of our performance from your wedding. We can arrange for our performance to be professionally multi-tracked and will then work with your videographer to create the soundtrack to your wedding video.

Our party bands all come with stage lighting packages to illuminate the performers – but we can extend this with extra stage and dancefloor lighting packages. Also speak to us about things like uplighter hire, grand piano hire or any other production you might need.
