The Jazz Hours are a stylish and sophisticated jazz quintet – available to hire for wedding receptions, corporate events and celebrations throughout the UK and internationally.
The band is fronted by incredible jazz vocalist Lydia Bell, and is led by tenor saxophonist Alex Western-King – who, when not leading this band, can be found directing jam sessions at the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in Soho, London.
It’s that after-hours, smoky jazz club feel which The Jazz Hour recreate – performing their own unique, beautiful original arrangements of the best jazz standards, giving your event unrivalled sophistication.
You can expect to hear songs such as ‘S Wonderful, Stardust, Too Close for Comfort and many more.
When not performing with The Jazz Hours, the musicians can be found on stage with Down for the Count – one of the UK’s top vintage bands who regularly tour prestigious concert halls and jazz clubs.
The Jazz Hours are perfect for ambient entertainment during dinner or a drinks reception, and the musicians can adapt the set list making it lively or gentle depending on the mood of the event.

The Jazz Hours are part of Mike Paul-Smith Music, a group of 30 professional musicians who combine in a range of line-ups, creating different bands to suit various themes, styles and budgets.
We love building whole-day music packages – so you could have The Jazz Hours performing during dinner whilst The Vintage Strollers entertain your guests during the drinks reception and then party band Capital Sounds Showband get your guests dancing after dinner.

Your duo during dinner really added to the atmosphere and created a lovely backdrop for the dinner service. Then the full evening set was just fabulous, so many of our guests have commented on how the vocals and music were excellent.
