Mike Paul-Smith Music’s line-ups are the perfect entertainment for any celebration – and they don’t come much bigger than the Leeds Castle Concert, which we have now been invited to perform at twice.
This event takes place in the stunning grounds of Leeds Castle (near Maidstone in Kent) where, for one day each summer, more than 12,000 concert-goers don their Union Jack outfits and gather for a celebration of live music and (hopefully) glorious British weather.
It’s a particularly special event because the headline act is the world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by conductor John Rigby and featuring star soloists from the worlds of opera and the West End.
In both 2021 and 2022 Mike Paul-Smith’s vintage band Down for the Count was honoured to open the event.

The Get Downs
Our original line-up, playing swing and soul music at thousands of events since 2005. With a huge and varied repertoire list this band is perfect for parties with mixed age groups and will give your guests something to talk about for years to come.
Capital Sounds Showband
A stylish and funky band to keep your guests on the dancefloor all night long! This band performs medleys of soul, pop, Motown and disco classics, and is available in line-ups from a 10-piece band all the way up to a 45-piece orchestra.
Down for the Count All-Stars
Our vintage swing band Down for the Count is regularly found at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and other world-famous clubs and theatres. Hire us for your party and we’ll get your guests dancing to the best vintage swing music!
The Get Downs Lite
If your budget doesn’t stretch to our full band, check out the 6-piece Get Downs Lite – performing the same great mix of swing and soul music, great at getting audiences of all ages on the dancefloor.

Your party doesn’t have to end when the band finishes – find out about using our top quality PA system to play your choice of recorded music, which is usually free of charge until midnight and can be extended afterwards for an additional charge.

A vintage dance troupe available to hire alongside our party band. The dancers bring the party, starting off with a quick and easy vintage dance lesson before the band takes the stage – and then they keep your guests entertained with flashmobs and group Charlestons.
