I wanted to let you know how utterly fabulous the band was at our wedding on 20th May. We (and all of our guests - I truly have lost count of the number of compliments and excitement for the band!) were blown away and the whole evening was even better than we had imagined it would be. We appreciate that we were a much smaller crowd than your wonderful musicians are used to, but I hope they felt how much we all enjoyed every single song. More than 75% of our guests are musicians and so the music was always going to be pretty much the most important part of our wedding day. Each musician in the band was faultless and we had the absolute best time. It's been a while since we've got to a Down for the Count gig (I think our last was a night at Boisdale in Canary Wharf!!) because we don't live in London anymore, and this evening allowed us to relive what we used to love doing! I can't thank Simon and the rest of the band enough for making our wedding so memorable and fantastic.

We hired the Soul Essentials Duo for our wedding ceremony and drinks reception at the West Mill, Derby and couldn’t have been happier with our choice! A super classy addition to our day and created the perfect atmosphere for our guests. Mike was easy to communicate with and I would highly recommend Mike Paul-Smith Music in any combination for their talent and professionalism.

Great band - would highly recommend. We hired the band for a large event, and from beginning to end they worked well with us, from selecting the right PA equipment to tailoring a set to suit the theme of our event. They also tried hard to work around some logistical issues we were having at the venue. The performances were fantastic and we've had feedback from guests to confirm this, and invoicing/payment was all very easy. Would highly recommend.

Just a quick note to say thank you so much to you and all of the band - we had such a fantastic time on Saturday night, and you guys were exceptional, as always!! I have had so much comments about what a talented bunch you are. Set list was fantastic and my feet have just about recovered from all that dancing!!

We all worked well together and got the event over the line.. two years later than planned... it was a blast, and it looks like we made good money for the charity too which is awesome. Dear Mike, Thank you for helping make our wedding day so memorable. The music at the ceremony and the fantastic Strollers afterwards were such an important element not only for us but our guests. Looking forward to seeing you in concert soon.

Just wanted to write to express our gratitude for the amazing performance that you put on at our wedding reception. In the lead up to the day Mike was always on hand to answer any questions and was really helpful in the planning stages, supporting us to choose a first dance song and giving us total confidence in the band. We had trouble with the venue sound equipment on the day and Mike and the band could not have been more professional and hard-working in overcoming the challenges they faced. Despite it all they put on an amazing performance and there wasn’t a moment when the dance floor wasn’t full the whole night - even when the sound cut out (the venue’s fault, not theirs!) and all the guests were clapping along to an impromptu acapella performance! We had given Mike a few pointers as to what kind of music we liked and the set-list that the band performed was just perfect, each and every member of the band absolutely went for it and you can tell that they have an amazing energy when they come together to perform - which is infectious and keeps everyone singing along and dancing. Special thanks to Hannah, who has a beautiful voice that will always hold a special place in our memories as she sung ‘At Last’ and we swayed along to our first dance as husband and wife. We have seen Down for the Count in Streatham, Cadogan Hall, Pizza Express Live and now can proudly say that they made our wedding for us! Thank you to Mike and all of the band.  

Wow, wow, wow!!! What a fabulous night we had on Saturday with the band. They were fantastic! The first dance was lovely and the dance floor was then full to bursting for the whole of their two sets! Every song was amazing and everyone just loved it. The atmosphere they created was great and we just loved every minute! We had high expectations of the band, having heard Down for the Count previously and having had a glowing recommendation from Emma Brunjes. We knew they would be good but they far exceeded our expectations and gave us what we wanted and much, much more! A massive thank you to all the band members for making it such a wonderful evening for Emily and Stephen. With best wishes
