If you love jazz, BOOK THIS BAND! They do up tempo, smooth, standards, and sultry with class, passion and energy. I felt like our wedding was transported back to the gold age of Jazz, which was exactly what we wanted!

Hi, we just wanted to say how AMAZING you all were on Saturday evening. You were all fantastic and exactly what we wanted. A lot of guests said you were the one of the best swing bands they have heard. We have also passed your details on to quite a few couples who have weddings coming up.

I write on behalf of myself and all the guests who attended our dinner on Friday at the Double Trees Hotel. I have received nothing but praise for you and your band and I wish to thank you all for helping make our evening the great success it turned out to be. A lot of my guests, besides myself are musicians of one sort or another and have all commented on the fabulous sound and quality of playing you all produced. What was particularly noticed was the young age of the players, playing and enjoying the music of another era. The type of music you played was perfect for my guests and I thank you for the very professional approach you made to getting that right. I know from bitter experience how easily it is to get it wrong. I would be pleased if you would pass on my sincere thanks and those of my Provincial Grand Master and all the guests to your band members for giving us a truly memorable evening. I hope very much that I am able to use you again in the future.

Dear Mike Just a short email to say a huge thank you to you and your band for the fabulous performance you gave last Saturday for our daughter's wedding. Everyone thought you were all terrific, you sounded superb and certainly got everyone on their feet. I for one didn't want it to end, dancing the whole night. Dear Mike, It is a pleasure to write to you today to thank you and your band for playing at our James Bond 007 "Licence to Thrill" Charity Event on Saturday 21st June at Trumpeters' House. I am sure you will agree the evening was a huge success and complemented by the glorious weather. Early indications are that the evening raised in excess of £76,000, which will provide much needed support to our families. The money raised will be put to immediate good use in providing practical assistance to improve the quality of life for children with life-limiting illnesses, who are cared for by desperate families. Once again, thank you for your help in entertaining our guests and I do hope we shall work together sometime in the future. With my very best wishes.

Just wanted to send mike and the band a card to say thanks for last Fridays performance at our wedding... Can't remember all their names but WOW, absolutely amazing. Who needed a wedding ... Would have just danced the night, day and following night away with them. The blonde lead singer's voice was just stunning ... The horn players fabulous ...

I couldn’t have asked for better - especially seeing all generations having a dance together - and I received so many commendations on the quality of the band and how it made the evening special. Mike and his team were relentlessly professional before, during and at the end of the day. He played the organ during the ceremony, including pieces he hadn't seen before as well as providing an afternoon jazz trio and a 7-piece evening swing band. Throughout the day he was always doing what he said he'd be doing and we never had to chase for anything. We were running a bit late, but he was happy to be flexible and accommodate us... We've had loads of comments from our guests saying how much fun they were and how good they sounded. We've already recommended them to a couple of our friends.

We were absolutely delighted with The Get Downs. They were the perfect choice for our wedding and had a great variety of songs matching the style we wanted. They were friendly and professional and looked great as a group. All of our guests had a brilliant time and were rarely off the dance floor!

Hi Mike, A short note to say thank you for a great performance yesterday from Rob, Jamie and the chaps. 'Easy' went down a treat, and the rest of the set was excellent, we all really enjoyed it and the band's musicianship was clear to see. Please would you pass on our thanks and congratulations for helping make the day go so well. And thanks for being patient, as expected we did overrun, but you accommodated us extremely well and everyone represented Mike Paul-Smith Music fantastically well. Thanks again and I've no doubt I will use your great band at some stage in the future.

A massive thank you to you and all at Mike Paul-Smith for a fantastic performance at our wedding. I can’t wait to see all the photos from our photographer and share them with you. I had so, so many compliments on the night about how fantastic the band were and we loved every minute of the dancing and the jazz for the reception drinks. Also, thank you Mike for all your help and guidance in the lead up to the big day – it was so refreshing to have your honest input into what we actually needed for the day.

Many thanks to you and saxophonist for your special part in playing the music at Emily and Andrew's wedding. You really helped to create the perfect atmosphere and there were many positive comments, we will certainly recommend you to others. The rest of the day was as hoped for and the happy couple are now on honeymoon. All the best to you and the band.

We were absolutely delighted with the band. They were professional, fun and sounded fantastic. They really added a level of sophistication to the event and couldn't have been better. We send out a feedback survey to our staff after the event and this year we got the highest score ever with 99.6% of staff saying that overall the event was worth attending. Many staff said that this was the best event that they had ever been to. Achieving this result without a band of this quality would have been impossible, so thank you.

Hi Mike, I hope you are well. We wanted to thank you and the band for the fantastic music at our wedding on the 8th September. Sorry for the delay in contacting you, we got back from honeymoon early October and reality of being back to work etc. is finally sinking in! We thought the music throughout the evening was brilliant. Your duo during dinner really added to the atmosphere and created a lovely backdrop for the dinner service. Then the full evening set was just fabulous, so many of our guests have commented on how the vocals and music were excellent. Please pass on our thanks to the rest of the band, especially for accomodating the restrictions on time during the evening, we appreciate you playing until 11.30pm. Down For The Count first appeared at The Twinwood Festival in 2013, and immediately after their performance I went straight onto the stage and booked them again, which as a promoter was something I had never done before! I was so impressed with their performance. This young, accomplished and enthusiastic band is a breath of fresh air on the Swing Scene today. Their repertoire and style is great for theatres, dances, weddings and corporate functions. In fact they will go down well anywhere!
